Liberal Party to fully fund the East West Link!
Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced $4 billion to fully fund the East West Link. This is exciting news for the Eastern Suburbs and anyone who uses the Eastern Freeway!
Our $4 billion commitment for the East West Link means NO funding is required from the Victorian Government. They can get on with other priorities and we can build the link.
Our investment is about standing by Melbourne’s commuters in the Eastern Suburbs who want to get out of the gridlock, so they can spend more time with their families without wasting extra hours each week on the road.
Once completed, the East West Link will allow 100,000 cars per day to bypass 23 sets of traffic lights, saving more than three hours per week in travel time on average.

We know that traffic would already be flowing on the Eastern Freeway by now, if Labor hadn't recklessly cancelled the East West Link. Instead, they wasted $1.3 billion cancelling this vital project.
So, the difference and choice is clear – only we will deliver the East West Link and get the Eastern Freeway moving. If you use the Eastern Freeway, send Bill Shorten and Labor a message this election.

In an embarrassing revelation today for Bill Shorten and Daniel Andrews, a secret Victorian government report on Melbourne's future infrastructure options identified the need for an East West Link.
Just over a year after spending $1.1 billion to cancel the East West Link contracts, the Andrews Government's very own appointed infrastructure adviser has called for the East West Link to be built.
And despite today's advice, Bill Shorten has backed Daniel Andrews' decision to throw away taxpayers' money for no return.
Watch Bill Shorten's response when asked if he still supports building the East West Link.
Now more than ever, I need your help to continue the fight to deliver this vital road project, with $3 billion in federal funding available to build the East West Link.
